For anyone interested and will be testing their jfets and wants to see an example build.
I didn't have any stripboard just perfboard.
The center position is supposed to be off but it measures as the same in the center position as the bottom but I don't think I did anything wrong....
Out of the 10 jfets I had
One 0.3 mA, four 0.4 mA, two 0.5 mA, one 0.6 mA, two 0.7 mA
I guess to be closest to chucks build I should use the 0.5's and 0.7s?
