Hey all,

It's been a while since I posted a build report!

I've had this 1590A enclosure since I started building back in 2022. I've just never had anything to put in it.
And I never could crack the code on doing top jacks on it without major surgery to the enclosure.

Big shout out to @Audandash for his kindness for not only sending me the board with all the components baked on with his hot plate
but also for helping me troubleshoot it when it didn't work hahaha.

Turns out I had a bad switch. And it was my only pin lug switch. So I had to use a different toggle and off board wire it.
Thus the extra hole. Which doesn't really bother me for a utility pedal.

So a couple of cautions if you're building this. It needs a plug in the TRS jack for it to power on. So when you're checking your power make sure you have even a dummy plug in the jack to close the connection.

Secondly, if you look at my pics, the hole for the 1/4" jack needs to be cut all the way down to open the enclosure. There's really no way to get the jack in and soldered other wise. (Ask me how I know......grrrrrrr......:)

I haven't really found a use for this yet. except maybe troubleshooting with a probe.

Robert told me that it was a "dirty square wave", that's a pretty apt description on the scope hahahah.

This rest here is TL;DR updates:

I've officially completed my leukemia treatment as of July 31 when I took my last dose of the smart cancer killers.
No big change in how I feel yet. It's probably going to take a few months before I can see if my body is bouncing back and making healthy lymphocytes.
I'm still pretty severely immunocompromised and basically quarantining and trying to not get sick. And I still get tired easily.
Despite the fact that all I've done all year is sit around and play guitar, my playing has not improved and I'm still pretty crappy....... :p

I've actually been building quite a few pedals. I just haven't been posting.

Just looking at my desktop, a few shout outs are:

Flank Distortion - Like what the heck is up with this pedal? I never heard of it until just a couple months ago. Why is it selling for like over $1k on Reverb?
I built it not expecting a lot. I'm generally not a fan of LED clippers. But dang! It sounds really great!. It doesn't have that "led sound" but is quite amp-like and Marshally.

Saturnine Distortion - The Maxon SD-9. I don't get the hate for this pedal. It's a favorite of Michael Landau and Scott Henderson. I LOVE this pedal. Super expressive with the gain barely cracked.

Vemuram Butter Machine - I've built a couple of versions of this one. One which was a layout done by my good friend on the other side of the pond, @szukalski
My interest was largely driven by Michael Landau as its his signature pedal and his "idealized" Maxon SD-9. I was thinking about doing a demo comparing the Butter Machines to the original SD-9. Lemme know if that's of any interest.

Proletarian - Boss OS-2 - another pedal that gets a lot of hate or disinterest at best. Another GREAT Boss pedal. You can blend between overdrive and distortion with a potentiometer. Some really great dirt sounds. It's ironic that it was chasing booooteeeeeek pedals that got me into building and the more I build the more of a Boss fanboi I've become. I can blame/thank @Guardians of the analog for that.

SheepyLove "Wobbly Sheep" - Boss TR-2 tremolo. Speaking of @szukalski, this was a board he sent me a couple of years ago. I finally got around to building it.
This was a collaboration between @Guardians of the analog and @szukalski. Hands down the best tremolo EVER. So many different sounds you can get out of it. You make it sound like an optical, or bias based trem with just 3 knobs.

There's a lot of great pedals I've built but I'm running out of steam with this long post and you're probably nodding off....heh.
