Totally this. When I was in high school I would’ve loved to get into electronics but I had no idea where to start. No internet resources and nobody who could help. So it took me at least 10 more years before I soldered my first PCB.

I had to learn how opamps work and calculate some values in circuits all that fancy stuff and forgot EVERYTHING as it was boring at that point my life. Couldn’t regain that knowledge because I only solder pedals. Need to cut back at soldering and learn something.

And regarding the string changing it is not uncommon
