I've been trying to put this together for like six months
I've tried 4 times to get the colors right for this. It is hard. I'm going for a yellow and brown tweed inspired thing but these two colors hate each other. The brown always comes out too dark or too light and the yellow is usually too green. Like it is here. But idc anymore. I need to hear the circuit already. So here we go
I'm using a daughterboard for the LED brightness. Lately I've been mounting a trim pot directly onto the board but my skillz are off lately and I just didn't feel like it, man
It is very likely that I will redo this. This isn't to my normal standard of quality. I could have at least made it horizontal and included a boost circuit like the original. Or maybe I could have made the colors come out better. My drum project is taking up too much of my head space. It's going to be really cool though - it's a nesting kit where a 10" rack tom fits inside a 14" floor tom which fits inside an 18" bass drum, and they all fit in one drum bag. The bass drum and floor tom split in half and are held together by a reinforcement ring and a few latches. I've finalized the ring and latch design and now I need to work out some of the other hardware for the bass drum. The final hurdle will be how to install the wrap the cleanest way - my table saw isn't the best method for cutting wrap.
back to the pedal idk. Here's the gut shot. I'm doing a thing where I make the wires match the color of the enclosure. It's fun
It's a pedal. Idk. But.
This thing sounds amazing. I was afraid like my Distortr it would sound both shrill and boxy, but this is perfect. The gain sound is awesome. There's just the right amount of clarity and saturation. When you turn the gain up it retains definition. The sound doesn't get all mushy. It's really good. I'm really disappointed in the finish. I'm definitely going to redo it and maybe make it into a horizontal pedal or some kind of cool combo. I did that with my 763 Deluxe and this thing needs the same kind of treatment. It's really nice!
