DEMO [Vero] ProCo RAT w/ LM308H

i’ve had a few LM308H opamps to play with, and after a fair bit of breadboarding with them, and building a life pedal V1, it was time to build a proper og rat.



my last rat build was for a friend with an OP07, and at the time i wasn’t real fond of it.
not real sure if the opamp had much to do with it, test conditions (amps), or my mindset, but ive definitely come round to being a big fan of the sounds i’ve been getting in recent times.



this time i also used @HamishR 's vero layout.
it’s way better than the last one i used.



everyone knows what a rat sounds like, but regardless, i did a demo anyway.
no boosting. just rat and humbuckers.

thanks! lately i’ve been trying to get the best of natural lighting at ideal times of the day, cos i can never seem to get iphone shots to look good under indoor/artificial light.

I have my own pack of rats, but I still listened to the demo anyway- you make good demo videos.

As mentioned, very clean build. You know what they say- if it looks like a rat and sounds like a rat, then it is a rat!

I have to second @Feral Feline definitely one of the cleanest Vero builds I have seen, and good demo as well, at this point we all pretty much know how most circuits are going to sound but I enjoy seeing how everyone uses them. Well done man!

cheers man, that’s some big praise from the master of clean wiring
with the demo i tried to sorta showcase the crossover from distortion into fuzz with the gain control but i think i might have started with too much gain lol.
