What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

What is IC2?

If it is a boost....
What voltage is VPP?
🤷‍♂️

I've no idea what IC2 is.
It's not a boost, it's the heart of a Fart-Gun:

I'll be rehousing it into a regular FX build with a blender to mix in the noises created from the Flatulent circuit with whatever effect it gets to parallel with. A momentary-stomper will trigger it instead of the tiny button used in its former housing, a pistol; the regular stomper turns the main effect on/off as per a normal build.

I've taken the Farty little PCB out of the gun and will be powering it from the 9v-in of whatever pedal circuit it gets paired with, but the Fart circuit runs on 3v, so I need to step the pedal's voltage down for the farty-PCB.

All the wires are so thin and fragile it's a wonder kids don't destroy the toy immediately just pulling the trigger let alone the number of times they'll likely be dropping it on the floor/concrete/down stairs/etc.

I'll try to figure out VPP for it next chance I get to look at it, which won't be soon as too many other life commitments are pending.

EQD artwork under the knobs. I thought this one was pretty cool. I asked ai to remove the knobs other items to uncover the artwork; completing the artwork that was hidden by the knobs. It is a photoshop file on my computer but I made it Jpg for easy upload.

I love the Hummingbird one also. I have been playing with the colors on it. I do have photoshop but it is so easy on ai. I go to Gemeni and tell it what to do - it is done in seconds.

I was printing using an Epson ET-8550 ink jet but I am not happy with the waterslide drying - wait time and ink tracks in the designs. So I got a Canon MF-665 color laser printer. Just started using it yesterday and it seems great.

I'm waiting on parts for the floor tom. I want to make sure they fit together with no issues before I order the wrap. But it's looking good!

Have not but in observing other dfx builds, I would advise not drilling power or audio jacks until you have the PCB seated on the pots and can measure.
I've seen several builds that pre-drilking resulted in interference with the pcb
That seems to be the common thread to all I have read across various places.

I built one in like 2018 or something. For being absurdly large and having an ungodly number of holes to drill I remember it being actually pretty straightforward and firing up first try. I promptly sold it to a friend.
It seems like a 1590D would have been sufficient.

Hell, I believe the 1550G is the same enclosure as my Voodoo Vibe, perhaps it’s time to make a “why large box..” board when this and the Lovetone projects wrap up

Setting up my temporary pedalboard I/O box until I can layout the big one. I'm using Robert's MicroXLR and Simple JFET Buffer boards with a master mute and status LED, alongside an LM317T circuit providing an 18V/9V switch for phantom power to my active instruments. I am powering everything on 30V so VREF for the JFETs and MicroXLR is set to 15V. I also have a footswitch thru with a TS/TRS switch for different types of footswitches.

Was just organizing some parts and noticed that some of these low profile mono jacks are mirrored from the others, which prompted me to check some of the other kinds in the pile. i think they’re from tayda. Would be kind of nice to have a consistent supply of “matched pairs” to make wiring a little neater. Or maybe no one cares and this is nothing 😂

Left-handed and right-handed jacks?!

Yup, I've found that the ones I get from AliExpress are backwards from the ones from AES. It doesn't bother me, but it IS curious.

It looks like the plastic housing is groved to go other either way.
And those are stereo jacks, yeah?
That’s what I thought too, but the ground pin groove is different. They are stereo, yeah.

Interesting! Maybe the tayda ones are the same? I googled the manufacturer from the tayda listing (Tuozhi) and it seems like they make basically everything you can think of, including a bunch of clone guitars. Or maybe there are multiple companies with the same or similar name. Who knows! Either way I’ll have at least a few matched pairs to use in future 1590b builds 😂
