Should be building or at least compiling parts lists for the incoming boards…
But likely will be troubleshooting a Super Rat since I finally figured out the problems with my Dual Rat. I really don’t have this many problems, even with more complex builds.. but Rat Variants seem to be my Achilles heel.
I'm always a bit surprised when real life measurements agree with the model, even though I should know better by now.
This gadget is so new, I don't even know what to call it yet. Boost-something or another? It's a 3-way toggle meant to go onboard a bass instead of a 2-band EQ, for minimalists and filter-based preamp users (it complements tunable lowpass filters). Bass boost on one side, flat in the middle, treble boost (BRIGHT, or SLAP if you prefer) on the other side. I'll eventually put in a DIP switch so I can preset how much boost on either side.
It will definitely go right into my main bass once I'm done with it. Possible variation for guitar, also selectable by DIP switch: flat boost (instead of bass) on one side, unity buffer or slight treble boost in the middle, crazy Brian May-strength treble boost on the other side (20+ dB).
Best part, and the very reason I made a prototype rather than going straight to JLCPCB: it does not pop when switching. I really had to make sure of that.
The other best part: uses a single, non-inverting op amp, which you can't do with a standard 2-band Baxandall. Just going from inverting to non-inverting cuts the noise in HALF at unity gain.
I hope you're right. I did take a deep breath before I clicked transmit -- although that hasn't helped with pedal building. Fortunately, I have a lot more experience doing taxes than I do building pedals.
My first Pickguard is perfect! So I’m making this guitar for my wife’s school’s annual banquet. The banquet is themed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (that’s the school play this year). I’m going to put Gold Firebird mini humbuckers and all gold hardware and call it the Golden Ticket. I’m also going to make a pedal to go with it, candy purple enclosure from Tayda with different color knobs and call it the GobStomper!
