What's for dinner?

Finally got tomatoes! Came in really late this year

Need to grill the tomatoes first, get some of the water out. Also, charcoal > pellet grill for pizza, so I'll do that next time as well.

And boy the berries are really giving it this year; i think we've already done at least a couple gallons of freezer jam.

My lovely significant-other made...

Home-made sourdough toastie w/ marble Canadian Cheddar (smoked Gouda or Mozarella also excellent choices);
Salad: oven-roasted vegetables w/ dash of sesame oil — potatoes, carrots, Brussels-sprouts, fig, pumpkin seeds with a Maple-syrup/Balsamic vinaigrette dressing and some Feta cheese.

Strong coffee, to boot, to help counter today's massive headache.

A very good friend of mine made dinner for my wife & I — hand-made soba noodles from scratch (alas hidden beneath the broth) and specially marinated eggs, pickled carrots and braised daikon and some eggplant-I-don't-know-what-it's-called also from scratch, not to mention the miso/sweet-potatoe soup base from scratch, various mushrooms and more — everything from scratch and he spent the whole dang-burned day prepping it all...

Needless to say, it was absolutely deeeelusciouslylicious!!!!!! 🤤
 
Almost all the formerly ‘poor man’s’ cuts have gotten trendy and expensive. Last time I looked at the price of some oxtails…👀!!!
Yah for sure, I love oxtails done either Chinese style or Jamaican style. Haven't bought those in a long time too......add beef ribs to that list.
