What's your current headache?

Figurative headache is turning into a literal one. I am currently at the gym and waiting on new earbud headphones to replace the pair I lost.

Getting through workouts without music isn't the issue. Music is a plus but it also helps to block out distracting noises. Currently there is somebody, somewhere in the facility singing in the key of something vascilating between sharp and flat notes like they were pumped up with Valium and boy is it annoying.

Reminds me of a guy that went the gym I did at the time. He was probably 6'6" and close to 300lbs. Strong MF too. He would scream out gangsta rap lyrics and dance around as he worked out. Never talked to anyone. He eventually got thrown out of that gym for constantly leaving his weights out. We're talking 300+ pounds still on the squat rack. Absolutely obnoxious, even with headphones on!

We collectively called him the 'Dancing Bear'. I don't miss him.

Is it just me or has gym etiquette taken a dive post-Covid? Singing out loud for everyone to hear is not cool. Not re-racking weights is a cardinal sin.

Depends. I'm one of the early birds (6:30-7:30am) and normally the crowd at any gym I've gone too is friendly and respectful. There are, of course, always a few bad apples in the bunch. In terms of etiquette, I don't trust anyone. I usually wipe the machines down before and after I use them. Most of the people (or at least the ones who stand out) are lazy and inconsiderate.

Things seemed better for a bit. Now they seem worse. I’m really not sure where I stand with things now, but it’s literally killing me. I feel like I’ve been set up to fail, and now I’m being made to jump through hoops that I’ve never seen anyone else have to go through. This semester has broken my mind, my spirit, and my body, and yet when I tearfully apologize for not living up to expectations, I just get hit with more to feel guilty about. I fully expect to have a heart attack or crash my car from exhaustion before the semester ends, but what can I do? Life is shit, and the most I can bring myself to do to fight back is complain about it to people on the internet— how’s that going to help me?
Hang in there, all you can control is what's in your hands to control.

Couldn't help myself, sing this to the tune of ABBA's Dancing Queen.

Friday night and the gym's aglow
Looking out for a place to go
Where the beats are loud and the weights are stacked
You come to lift and attack

Anybody could be that guy
But there's one who stands out high
With a booming voice and a swaggered flair
He's the king of the air

And when he shouts
The whole gym knows
He’s got the moves, the rhythm flows
He’s the talk of the scene
Watch that man, he's a lifting machine

You are the Dancing Bear
Six-foot-six, with a gangster glare
Dancing Bear
Feel the beat as you lift and swear, oh yeah

You can dance, you can jive
Having the time of your life
Ooh, see that man, watch him swear
Digging the Dancing Bear

Racking weights, leaving them behind
Others search, but they cannot find
Where the plates have gone, it's a mystery
But he's lost in his spree

And when he lifts
The crowd steps back
He’s got the strength, the power pack
He’s the star of the gym
Watch that man, he's a lifting king

You are the Dancing Bear
Six-foot-six, with a gangster glare
Dancing Bear
Feel the beat as you lift and swear, oh yeah

You can dance, you can jive
Having the time of your life
Ooh, see that man, watch him swear
Digging the Dancing Bear

it'll be fine, everyone who gets that close to trump pisses him off and gets exiled pretty quick
