What's your current headache?

Injured myself in the gym last week and thought I pulled a muscle in my forearm. It hasn't gone away and im pretty darned sure I gave myself tennis elbow. Luckily it's on my non-dominant hand, but even trying to drink from a coffee cup I feel it. If it doesn't get better in a month or so I'll see a doctor. I'm trying to keep my playing at a minimum (sadly).

I took a week off from work and my wife is complaining because I've already spent 3 of those days doing nothing but getting caught up on building pedals and setting up my guitars/bass. She's afraid I'm going to "waste the whole vacation" time on just guitar stuff......

Edit: She is gonna kick my ass when she sees what's in the mailbox today too. rockman sustainor and new rack for my random rack gear.

Waste your time? But that’s the whole point!

Had something exactly like this a year or two back. Definitely took some time to get back to lifting anything close to what I was before that. The tennis elbow eventually wore off but the arm was weak for several months afterwards. Good luck, hopefully it was a tweak and not a true tear.

back on the mesa studio 22 headaches ... intermittent operation fixed with a cap job ... only to uncover issues with the cathode bypass caps which are tantalum (and some weird values)

Mine gets pissed when I do my chores instead of "our" chores. Spending 4 days cleaning the basement was a "me" thing and taking out the trash is an "our" thing that she doesn't like doing 🙃

Man I would kill to have a week long vacation where I just do guitar stuff. I saved up four weeks of PTO so we could take a vacation to visit my wife's family and friends. I brought my laptop so I could work on some layouts during times when there's absolutely nothing for me to do, but I don't have access to any musical instruments while we're here so that's been rough.

When we get home I'm buying a new synth to treat myself.

I love it when the ups guy comes through before my wife comes home. It's like finding a 50 dollar bill on the sidewalk.

Yeah. And sometimes, it really is an ‘our’ thing, but different priorities. Yes, I need to clean out the basement and garage as a prerequisite so I have that space to do the other projects.

What synth you gonna get?

Something fragile and Italian. But then I repeat myself.

Actually the only one I've seen constantly need maintenance was a friend's Crumar DS-2. Owned a JEN SX-1000 that was fun, and solid, but my Yammy CS10 did basically everything and better, so I sold the little Italian on.

Truth be told the most unreliable synths I ever owned were an Akai AX60 and an Oberheim Matrix 6R, both solid names. Both would dump their EPROM if touched wrong, which, unless you had preset data saved to tape, they were basically bricked. Thankfully a friend had his AX60 presets in MP3, and 1/8" jack was the only hardware required. The Oberheim was a lost cause and went back to the seller.

I think that CS10 is the one I would want back, though the SQ|80 I had was poly aftertouch and made for great effect controlling Arturia's CS80V.
