you should start reading the troubleshooting questions and answers in the forums to see the suggestions that are usually made for people that are trying to get their projects to work. spend an hour looking at those discussions to see if you get a better idea for the kinds of information you need to share with people if you are going to ask for help, and you will also see the kinds of things people are doing to fix those problems.
overall, it helps a lot if you know HOW the circuit is supposed to work because there are different sections withing a project where there might be a problem.
