XC Phase Weak Phasing

I just finished doing my best to check the resistor codes, and cap values

The pedal works, but the phasing is weak compared to a newer MXR Phase 90 I have.

I would understand if it was supposed to be more subtle than the newer unit, but this seems too subtle.

The matched 2N5952 transistors from Pedal Parts, so hope they’re good.

I have a Peak Atlas in case you recommend I pull them out and test them

Thank you for any help you can give

This one is still in progress for me. But I will say, in my experience the sweet spot on the bias trimpot of a modulation pedal can be tiny. A super narrow range, so it can be easy to miss.

Since you’re getting a little bit of phasing, my first suggestion is to just barely nudge that trimpot to see if you can get more woosh.
This is it. If the value is right and the fets are matched you shouldn’t have any trouble. Dial it in slowly!

Tried to slowly dial it in several times and just can’t get strong phasing, just mild fairly weak phasing, especially compared to my bog standard MXR Phase 90

I pulled the transistors to test them for matching, but my Peak Atlas DCA55 can only identify the transistor type, but can’t take a measurement.

So that’s where I am. I’m going to put sockets in and maybe move the transistors into different positions and see what happens.

Maybe a different trimmer?

Any more ideas or input?

Different set of matched transistors.
