Your best and worst pedal hot takes? 🔥

I have been getting knobs from Tayda and I’m pretty happy with those, especially the aluminum ones. Needless to say, much cheaper than LMS.

I have done that in the past but a lot of the newer knobs from tayda are very inconsistent. Lots of them have shown up with scratches and tooling marks and look just plain cheap. The more pedals I've built the more I respect the builders who used good parts in manufacturing. Nothing like a set of good knobs

This ^^

For something going on my board, I don't much mind. But if I'm building for someone, I'm buying primo knobs, I'm getting something like these from AP/TNM/ARS, much as it hurts my wallet 😭.

If I make something I just want good quality stuff in general. Cheap stuff feels cheap when turn knobs and step on switches. I don't like thinking about stuff I'm using. That's why I switched to relay bypass, one less thing to think about. And if I did have to replace a switch it's just 2 solder points.

Actually, now I think more, my biggest problem with Tayda knobs has been more non-concentric rotation :/ and while nothing's perfect, it seems extra with theirs. Haven't gotten their Al knobs recently. Mine have always came individually wrapped in tissue, so never had scuff marks… that's a bummer.
