And I’m not talking “I won a PedalPCB gift card courtesy of @fig” sort of thing, but for instance I just bought a Rangefinder board because a friend was fixing an old clock and had to replace the entire mechanism. Just so happened that inside the guts of the thing was a very clean 2n404 transistor that spec’d nicely for said build. Or like my last build report contained a squidward because my daughter did a SpongeBob “handsome Squidward” drawing that I liked so much I wanted her to put it on a pedal for me. Things like that. Let’s hear your stories.

About 10 years ago this annoying little shit was coming over with my kids' friends. They were about 10-11 years old. He was precocious and had some boundary issues. The kids didn't seem to like him much and honestly neither did I. He tried to hang out with me more than the kids and asked questions about everything. He was especially into my guitar stuff. One day while I was cooking I let him fuck with a guitar plugged into a delay and amp and he gelled with it immediately. He then told me that he had his deceased father's guitar but had never been able to play it because it didn't have strings and he didn't know if it worked. I told him I'd help if I could and he brought it to me. It was a cheap epi sg and I got it set up and working ok. He came over and played his fingers off on it through my gear. I saw his passion for it so I decided to build him his own little practice amp for home. It was a ruby amp in a C enclosure on end with an alpine car speaker in it. It was my most rewarding build ever. I've built him his whole pedal board over the years and is now the lead guitar in a popular local band that is getting a lot of attention. The little shit.
