Tips for a successful build or the ramblings of a balding idiot

I made this video as a intro to pedal building and some tips about how I do it. I am by no means a professional but I feel like this is a much better way to discuss my process and knowledge gained.

It is also a nice way to transition to the next video and the new format that will have more of a build report and breakdown and be more informative.

I realized that it is way too challenging for me to go from creative improvising guitar playing demo mode to technical aspects of a pedal, so I am switching it up!

All those tips make sense to me. I have 2 BYOC kits to knock out soon, speaking of a great place to start. I am sure the great enclosure labeling/decoration debate will rage on... I'll go with the "I gotta make it 'pretty and neat'" approach, because after all that, I can't just stop on the 1 yard line.

The last tip I'm guilty of. This past week I've been playing all my pedals and I have to say I have so much more appreciation for them and what each one of them do even if its similar.
Great video can agree with every tip!

That is a great way to put it! Take it home baby!
Less noob support and more gatekeeping please. There are enough pedal builders already 😂
Hahaha man there are a ton of them! Godspeed and good luck to anyone who wants to make a living at it.

I love seeing pedalboards that have a bunch of low key builders though.

Thanks mate!!!!

Waxing poetic over a sucker. I dig it.

What's up with the pickups in your troubleshooting shelf--were you winding your own?
Nope! They were in my sg and i decided to put humbuckers back in it.

That is a set of lindy fralin humbucker size p90s and a set of bootstrap pickups in the same configuration. I am trying to start cleaning out the pedals and some gear.

Dude, if you're balding then I'm a -20! I do resemble the idiot part though

I love what you do for the community as a whole and everything you do is to somebody/everybody out there. I'm a big fan of the content without the bullshit approach and always stuff I pay attention to.

Pull a "Pedal A Day" and sell on Reverb with an "As seen on YT" tag. We and the larger public could all own a piece of Internet history!
They really do that? I just sellthem to make room for the other ones that are piled on the amps. I am going to start on facebook marketplace, wanna avoid them reverb fees

Man I really appreciate that. Lately on youtube guitar channels i have noticed a trend of “this is so hard” sad face emoji….

I don’t like that shit, or the like rate comment subscriber buy my shit blah blah blah.

I feel like that is pandering to people. I am trying to make videos that appeal to this community, that can help others and maybe even provide a little levity in this heavy world.

"Pedal of the Day" has a Reverb store. https://reverb.com/shop/pedaloftheday

I found it because they have a "Wounded Paw Attack Goat OD DI Bass Preamp" that popped up in my Feed. I actually watched their review last month. Guess they buy, review, and flip 'em.

I will definitely be watching for some rad painted pedals to show up on Marketplace then.

Just shared this with an old friend/ former band mate who's been chatting with me about getting his first kit (shika). You just saved me a fair amount effort getting him up and running. It's nice to team up and give a junkie his first taste. 💉

Good tips. I think one of my biggest turning points was when I got my Hakko iron and soldering station. It made me realize using crappy irons was making my life waaaaay harder than it needed to be.
It was the game changer when i went from a cheap in plug in pencil iron to a weller and then to the hakko
