What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Not sure this really counts, as I built half of it, but here we go. Built this last summer, and the other half of my guitar building operation has had it listed since then, with no one seeming to want to buy it, so he showed up yesterday and told me to keep it 🤣. He's got a fancy new journeyman HVAC gig, so he doesn't really have time or patience to wait for stuff to sell at the moment

It's pretty different from what I'd normally rock- the pickup is a Warman Bass Bar, massive amount of output. I'd say not dissimilar to an SD Invader, maybe a bit more clarity. He built the body with brootal djent in mind so it's a lot more in your face than my Teles and Danos. Currently tuned to Drop F, and definitely gets that djenty thing down. Also able to cop some really bright bass tones. It's rocking a 30.3" scale
The Volume pot is a push/pull currently wire for coil splitting, but I'm gonna rework it for series/parallel. Probably gonna do something different with the tone pot, too. Just not sure what yet
Also, it's massive :ROFLMAO: . Luckily the body is chambered walnut with a birch top, otherwise my back probably wouldn't be able to handle it

That thing is a monster. I once made a bass/bari double neck for funsies. Gigged it all but one time. The resulting week of muscle relaxers convinced me to go back to a 2 instrument situation.

DK Red HPF boards came in, I ordered four and received six. I've had this happen with JLC as well, but not as consistently. The US vendor DigiKey uses does a really nice job, assuming their spec limitations work for you:

Just under two weeks turnaround time, using their free snail mail option.

I have a Hipshot on my J-bass. It was a definite improvement from the the stock Squier.
I have the hipshot A-style on an old 80s Fernandes PJ that I got for free from my grandma’s neighbor, and subsequently tricked out with new hardware and electronics. It’s definitely my favorite bass bridge. This one will surely be an even bigger improvement though, since the original 3-point Gibson bass bridge is absolutely dog crap; unimaginably bad design in terms of stability (a TOM style semi-floating bridge on a bass???), adjustability, and moving parts. Can’t wait to get this bridge on and get some half-rounds on it.

C'mon then, let's see this wiring diagram of yourn.

Aion order arrived; no pics 'cause you know what Aion PCBs look like. As mentioned in a previous post, but to reiterate:

Sunstone EHX Small Stone
VH Drive Channel Ampeg VH-140C
Elysium Ibanez Soundtank Delay
Lithium EHX Small Clone
DZ4 Preamp Diezel DH-4

Revised the EB-3 wiring diagram late last night-- took a look at it again this morning and immediately realized a glaring error. In solving one problem, I carelessly created another one. let's see if it jumps out to anyone– I'm sure it should be an easy error to spot. Screen Shot 2022-10-07 at 1.22.40 PM.png

S5.1 leg or pin 3 should be connected straight to ground?

EDIT: i meant pin 3 should be connected to leg 8?

Forgive my amateur-ness here lol

not sure I know which connection you're talking about– but regardless, that's not the issue.
as a hint, it's not the way that the rotary switch is wired (though the most immediate fix I can think of does involve either relocating 5.3 and finding a different solution for the initial problem I was trying to fix, or finding a good quality, non-bulky 4p4t rotary switch).
I think you'll be able to spot it once you start thinking about the practical application instead of just how it looks on paper, if you catch my drift. ;)

Gimme sec to reevaluate!
