If you get crafty, you can solder leg extensions to the 4069 adapt it to the 4049 slot

Boolean logic isn't so bad if you've done a wee bit of computer programming
I think Fredrik explains it pretty well for audio use

So far im on the 2nd part. Where im at its late so im not following with the breadboard (i will do that tomorrow) but i am starting to understand a bit. Setting up a preamp using a CMOS chip is pretty much the same as setting up a simple buffer using an op amp. You even control the gain in the same manner.
What im not understanding is when you use a schmitt trigger is it only to get a square wave distortion? Or is it used to communicate with another CMOS chip? Or both?
