What's your favorite guitar that you own?

Going to say the American Standard P-Bass that I bought new in 1998. It’s stock aside from the pick guard, and I’ve used it for punk, jam bands, country, and everything in between, and it’s never once let me down.

She's a beauty. I think my next bass is going to be a Precision, but who knows, I haven't found one that speaks to me yet, and there's a lot of competition...

Ya, it’s grown to be a part of me since I’ve had it so long. I got it from Musician’s Friend back when you could break it down to four payments with no credit check back then. It was supposed to have a rosewood neck, but I’m glad they sent the wrong one.

When I was young, I bought a lot of equipment from a music store in Dayton, Ohio called the Drinking Gourd. They had a "rent-to-own" program, where you could rent equipment for 12 or 24 months (I can't remember), and after that you got to keep it. I probably ended up paying twice as much as if I had just bought it, but I didn't have a lot of money, but I could afford to "rent" a lot of gear that I otherwise couldn't have afforded.

I had an American P-Bass for a while. It was a great bass. Easy to play, sounded great perfectly stock. Looked good too. I've had a few P-Basses over the years and liked every one of 'em. I don't get on with J-Basses for whatever reason. I love the growl of a Precision. Years ago I had an Ibanez Musician bass - the one which was used by quite a few notable players back in the '80s. That was a lovely bass too but rather heavy.

I have a soft spot for a Stingray bass too. But if I was ever to be a bass player it would be with a P-Bass.

I just bought a J Mascis Jazzmaster from Sweetwater Wednesday, arrived yesterday. Beyond impressed with the Squire I received. Came absolutely perfect out of the box........no I did not wait for the 24hr acclimation period.....whoops. For $450, VERY blown away. Intonated, no rough frets, zero fret buzz, came tuned 1/2 step up and stays in tune. Was planning on modding it with a Rothstein Dial-a-Tap, but now I'm not sure......

Late 90s Reverend Rocco. Bought it when I was 16, been my main squeeze ever since.
Oooh, does it have one of those formica tops or whatever they were doing back then? For many years I played with a guy who had one. He'd refer to his Reverend solos as "testifying," ha. Have always thought they were super cool and unique.

According to the revfan site it’s a “laminated phenolic”
