Tayda UV Printing

Yes. My last order had that happen. No idea why, but it worked itself out.

It's possible that they bumped the queue to be overall more efficient; do same color finishes/coats all at once . But I don't know.
Thank you, that definitely makes me feel a little better. Hadn't seen that before

Mine did- said they had bubbles in the powder coating and had to start over. Took about three weeks- longest one yet.

Long shot, but has anyone done any white printing on a glow in the dark enclosure? Curious if the white adequately blocks out the powder coat from charging up or fluorescing wherever it covers. Had an idea for some “hidden” figures on a glow in the dark pedal that could be fun

I have - the glow in the dark powder coat will glow through white paint, as well as most bright colors.

I'm currently on day 14 for 5 enclosures. Two of them are matte/sand color and are all the way through UV and ready to ship. The others are still pending paint so that seems to be the long pole of this tent.

How bad are we looking these days for one enclosure, drill and print? Tayda's site suggests at least 3 weeks.
Yeah depends on the finish. If you're looking at one of the ones that often has defects (like the matte/sand finishes) you'll probably run into a blemish and refinish issue that will slow it down. Other finishes are probably still 2 weeks or so.

I had a dream last night that I checked my order status and there were errors for every step of it (drill, paint, print) with messages from Hugo for each one. I actually woke up with the disappointment still that I had failed so badly.

Anyone else have Tayda stress dreams?

I used to work in a record store and would have dreams where I couldn't find the most basic things "You guys got any Zeppelin?" "Sure sure, the z section is..... is..???!!!"

On Saturday the 26th, I will be at a full month with 5 enclosures in progress. 4 of them are showing as completed with the last one being on queue for UV printing for what I think has been 7-10 days. It is the only one that has the white layer print 2x service so maybe that has something to do with it. I've got plenty to work on, but will definitely "plan ahead" for any future builds.

Edit: order shipped on 7/25 - guess I just needed to share the status to move it along!

I could use some advice. The below art is going to go on a Matte Black enclosure. Do you all think I need to do two white layers to make it pop better (especially the sphere behind the phoenix)?

This might be a silly question, but do I need an RDG white layer underneath my colour layer if I am printing on a white enclosure?

I may have just submitted an order like this with an colour layer only on a white enclosure and I’m not sure if I should bother Hugo by asking him to cancel the print job.

I have only done that if the color layer is dark (e.g. dark red or black print, etc.) on the white enclosure. No issues when that was the case. I've got no experience with more complicated or detailed color layers in that use case.
