sometimes i do this in meetings on my notepad lolI’ve started drawing layouts of simple circuits in a notebook over coffee in the mornings. It’s a nice way to get the brain in gear, kind of like a crossword puzzle.
same.I love soldering... I hate dealing with enclosure artwork.
I love both. Just suffering from a bit of builder fatigue for a while...I love soldering... I hate dealing with enclosure artwork.
Also this. Why do I build? To pick up chicks, duh
Cough-nerds-cough!Also this.
Peck "Atlas of Human Anatomy" seems to be a must for an artist, although I found "Figure Drawing without a Model" by Ron Tiner way more helpful. And if you're thinking you can't draw at all, "Drawing on the right side of the brain" by Betty Edwards is a revelation.
Yeah, same. I don’t hate soldering. There’s definitely a nice zen focus-in-and-space-out-at-the-same-time thing that happens when I’m building. It’s just that it tends to wear off about 3/4 of the way through the build, and I start wondering why this stupid thing isn’t done yet!…I do kind of get into the zone though once I actually start soldering. Maximum focus, time flies by, that therapeutic type of shit…
Simultaneously nostalgic and triggered all at the same time even
Eventually you get to a point where it is neither of those things, and it usually sneaks up on you.For me:
- it's fun
- I'm cheap
Do tellI build because of a deep hatred of Zachary Zex and his business practices.
He's local to me. I built for him for a while over 20 years ago. He's a giant douche. Collect-em-all paint jobs over children's starter circuits. Fashion bullshit.Do tell
