Tales of Disaster: What’s *in* the workbench?

Now THAT'S something to fear. That happened to a friend of mine in Michigan and he spoke of it like a veteran with ptsd. Went all glassy eyed. "So much poo, bro."
Yeah it’s pretty gross. We had a restoration company come to clean up the mess. Then they tried to defraud our insurance by asking for $17K (the guy had quoted me $5K in person). Lesson learned: when stuff like this happens, the insurance is the first number to call. They can recommend hones companies to clean up the mess.

I finally filled up my danelectro food group pedal board. I still need to remove the knobs and clean up the pedals. They ran about 25 a pedal except the eq pedal. I had to fix several of the pedals. The power jacks are not the most robust. 2 had input jacks that needed to be soldered back.

Somewhat the wrong thread (my how the tables have turned) but it actually does apply....

Be careful.

Back in the early 2000's a friend brought over one of those Danelectro cases and what he believed to be the wall wart.

It was not. It was a Nintendo wall wart. Sure, it was 9V, but it was AC.

Guess what happened next? Yep. All five of em at once.

That had to be exciting and disappointing all at once. I’m guess ok Dan doesn’t used diodes that would have possibly blown first?

Yes, they most likely all have diodes to ground that shorted and "protected" the pedal.

We didn't open them up at the time so I couldn't say for sure, but that'd be my guess.

I have a boss pedal board i am working on. Where would you guys want this posted?

When it's done, of course post it in the pedalboard thread:
