Hey Doomer! Help me put a doom/stoner board together

Today I had some earth shaking sustainic activity going on at rehersals. Poison was Ge-Megalith going into Bass Big Muff with normal mode on, sustain pot almost maxed. Usually I’m using Rat-variant before Muff, but Megalith was better today. My Megalith has great noise gating propeties with ASY29 transitors used. Maybe biasing biased by my unexperience affects it? Dunno. It works for me. Sustain is there when needed and the pedal is completely silent without any hearable noise floor when guitar strings stop vibrating.

So yeah, Megalith is the way for doomy FF with different options on tonality. I have a darlington transistor on MOAR/boost circuit, but I rarely use it as it dilutes away the gritty character of what Ge transistors at Q1&2 positions give.

Interesting, I’ll give this a try…. That might make the oscillation switch a little more fun as well.

It was a mod I did to a Muff, based on mods from the coda effects muff page. It’s a cool way to get different textures of feedback if you aren’t playing through an amp

Mostly green Russian specs with mids control and a feedback circuit

Same as the last muffin (Evil muffin)I built, (Not so much anymore.)but this one is for me just a different enclosure.)

Update:
After a few tweaks and added mods/circuit, changed some component values this thing has become quite the bastardized muff, definitely ugly as sin inside, after multiple surgeries and experiments.




For anyone interested in the basics of the mods I used the coda fx muff mods as the jump off point...

Here is the last one I did put the feedback/drone switch on an IRB so I can ether do momentary or stay on

And it can also have almost an slight “octave “ type feel to it while you are playing if you have it on

TS > rat > muff > phaser > delay > trem

I would also add the gatekeeper to the front of your dirt chain, with the AD-9 after. Final answer.

Didn’t really dig the delay up front and fiddled with gatekeeper and the ad9 And turns out you can dial the gatekeeper to pretty much sound like the AD9 but it’s a little cleaner and I got an Oscillation switch for funnziez.

Turns out that trem suggestion is pretty fun put at the end with a hard chop and you can add a new level of crazy

I tried to keep it as clean as I could while being practical and not burning up all my zip ties and standoffs. As much as I want to go full OCD on it. I know eventually I will probably pull it all apart.

That's one of the reasons I love this board, you kept it versatile and instead of shortening cables and having to buy/make new ones if you changed things up (whether pedal choice, bigger/smaller board, etc) the neatly coiled cables, tie-downs, routing...

It's visually satisfying and also all so ...

What pickup is the OP using? Can get nice tones with a high output pups close to the strings.

Lithium HB in the bridge and Holdsworth HB on the neck. I’m not really keen on setting the pups to high for various reasons.
