1 Watt Resistors?!?

Either I or Tayda screwed up and I now have 10 1 watt 470k resistors instead of 1/4 watt.

They are obviously much bigger. Assuming I might have a project that these will actually fit into, is there any problem with using them in place of a 1/4 watt resistor?

I'll bet it was me that screwed up, btw

Happened to all of us more than once. Other than them being comically large, the only difference I’ve heard about is they may be a little noisy. I have my doubts.
 
I've done that ... and then you know that you'll be short one resistor for a build where you've only got the 1W values... Order more and pay postage again - or just shove a massive slug of a resistor on...
 
I'd buy some more 1w in other values, after choosing a circuit to build something Point-To-Point, on Tagboard, or on Turretboard — the extra thick leads are great for building P2P.
I used mine to mod an amp. 😂 glad I had them on hand. Now, these huge film caps….
