What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

I just got this to send off as an Xmas gift for my best bud. Dunno why, it's just funny to me. Not exactly high quality though.

So two days ago, on a whim I decided to see what blackface twins were going for. Anywhere from $2500 to $5000 depending on condition and age.

And then I saw a silverface with blackface AB763 circuit that had the tolex stripped and replaced and replacement grill cloth for $1395. Well I want a player, not a collector anyway. Total with shipping and tax added another 300ish. All new chrome too, handle, legs, logo, new tremolo roach (but an original vintage NOS). Replacement MOD reverb pan but he's shipping me the original to see if I can fix it. Recapped, etc.

The price for 4 rca stop sign 6L6's and two orange Utah speakers is close to the price of the amp!!!!!!!!

I couldn't have built one for this price, not with those tubes and speakers.

Now if I don't go WHACKO with anticipation waiting for delivery. argh.

Weren't Utahs used in mid 70s? Though, they have a bit of a demand these days due to the Cobain connection.

They sound awesome!

I did see them in older models but really I had to ask AI:
Utah speakers were used by Fender primarily in the 1950s and 1960s, known for their quality and tone. They were occasionally included in Fender products, but their use became less common as other speaker brands took precedence in later models.

Utahs became Pyles in the 70’s. The 12 inch utahs were used in bandmaster cabs from the late 60’s early 70’s. Id be curious about his twin havjng the 763 circuit as I don’t see the blacklines you would see on a drip edge with the pre cbs circuits. But I don’t know if thats a twin thing as well. Also someone couldve modded the circuit to be ab763, my understanding is though tube charts cant really be trusted as to what it actually is.

Correction: utah speakers went out of business in 71, utahs founder started pyle in 73.

"Bob" handed it over to UPS today. Should be here on 12/22. Color me HAPPY!

Tube chart AB763! I'll be popping it open when it arrives but Bob said it wasn't modded except for a recap.
