What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Dope! Didn’t realize you were working with PastFX now. Just noticed the signature— no more Lectric?

Nice! Not seen that one.

No, unfortunately don't think there's any more Lectric for me... Some life stuff happened and I had to take an extended break and now I've not really got the mental bandwidth any more nor drive for DIY.

Plus I seem to recall we were getting to the point of what was left for us to release that no one else had done a project for!

Doing a few bits for PastFX has been nice though, can spread my wings doing more complex circuits and not worry about the poor person having to find all the parts and actually put the thing together... I just hope the pick and place machines don't rise up.

That is so much cleaner than the ones I've worked on! Well... inside anyway.

Also, not sure about the production numbers, this version isn't even the first variant of the circuit, these came over a year later.
No, no...back up a minute...Scruffie???!!

Hey Gordo!

Holy f**k, there's a few names popping up that I haven't seen in way too long. Superb to hear from you!!! Could we be in for a DIY renaissance? This may be a sign
:)

The big muff 2 brought out all the riff raff 🤣
Whelp, you've got my number 🤣

I was curious!

Well I don't like to use the phrase second coming...

Nice to see another old text based face too! As I said, don't think I'll be Lectricing (well, without strong arming over something special and if Keefe will have me back) but I may on occasion be tempted by the odd BBD thread.

My plan was to start a new pedal today while I get buried in snow, but then @owlexifry posted about some cool breadboard wizardry and I started thinking about how I should do more of that.

Instead of getting right to it, I thought maybe finally assembling my big proto-board would be the thing to get me motivated.

I got a couple things populated, but then I needed a 100n film cap. I wanted to use one of the cool Panasonic ones I just got, but those are in a bag in a box under another box… and that’s just a lot to deal with. 🤣

So instead of just digging out the cap I needed, I thought - sure would be nice if I had those in drawers for quick access…

I have these drawers which are largely empty or full of vintage electrolytics I don’t trust, so before I get back to the protoboard, I decided to load some of those with ECQ caps.

But then I started looking at where to put those once I load them, and I didn’t have a great spot. Which made me realize I really need some more shelves over at the bench.

So before I load the drawers so I can get the cap to populate the protoboard so I can get ready to do some breadboarding so I can get back to building the pedal I was going to build, I decided to build some shelves.

I found some plywood that was already cut to a usable size, but I didn’t have any shelf brackets. There’s a hardware store about a thousand feet from the house, but it’s snowing and that would be a whole thing to get over there…

So I decided to make some uprights to hold the shelves. So now I’m cutting dados into some scrap oak drawer fronts.

And that’s why building pedals takes so long.
