What's your current headache?

Nothing like taking a week off to remind you how much you enjoy not being at work. Back in this morning. Yuck.

That's horrible. Then again, the dread of returning to work on the final two or three days is often much worse than actually being on the workfloor again. I dislike vacations because of it... I rather have a continuous running schedule with days off here and there; being pulled in and out of the rhythm made me bitter about work.

Just got an email with a cease and desist letter from a big corporation, so now I'm scrubbing both of my websites to get rid of everything they mentioned and anything that could potentially be called out in the future. Next I get to go through all my social media and make sure I don't explicitly use their trademarks in such a way that imply affiliation.

But Ampeg knows I exist now, so I guess I've got that going for me. I'll probably print out the C&D and frame it.

EDIT: just realized some of my build docs also use trademarked names in their descriptions, so I guess I'm updating all my builds docs now.

Doesn't Yamaha own them now?

Foot ache.

Dunno what happened. Didn't injure it. Left foot started hurting when I put weight on it a week ago. I'm a brute, so I just kinda limped along for the rest of the week.

Friday night/Saturday morning it got *real* bad. Went to urgent care, X-rays showed nothing, blood work showed nothing (normal liver function, uric acid levels, and rheumatoid factor) Foot's swollen to shit, so they sent me home with naproxen and Prednisone.

Saw a sports med doctor, got a foot ultrasound, got nuthin.

Been off work, and off my feet, since. It's better. But still slowly starts coming back when I put weight on it. Still a little bit swollen.

I'm like...fuck man, I kinda hate my job, and it's nice to have a little time off, but I need income. What the fuck? What did I do to my foot?

Be well stick. Had a similar thing happen with my knee a number of years back. Drained out an unfathomable amount of fluid. Don't know the cause but it hasn't been a problem since.
*Eyes a syringe I had for measuring fluids in hydronic loops and some leftover hypodermic needles from when I built my coil winding machine*

Came down with a cold so I’m just trying to stay hydrated as my head is throbbing. Plus my rotator cuff is sore from some unknown minor injury and the cold is making those symptoms worse. Getting old sucks.

Whelp. For the first time I think I have to surrender on a PCB. I have been trying to troubleshoot my AionFX Amethyst, but I think the part of the build where I accidentally mounted 20 1kΩ resistors where 10kΩ were meant to go has resulted in too many damaged pads. I know I lifted a few off of the board when working through the mess, but I have some weird bias problems right at the input buffer transistor that make no sense if the circuit board is intact.

I think this is the moment of cut-my-losses, order a new board and move the valuable bits over. It will probably take a quarter of the time that hunting down the bug on this board will...

Not calling out people who actually use trucks for work, but honest question; why do so many pickup drivers lose their minds when they get honked at or flipped off after they’re the ones who fucked up?

Is there something in the suspension that can’t absorb accountability? Did Ford change the name of the engine from Ecoboost to Egoboost? Jesus.

I drive a large diesel Ford (not for work). 🤣 Pretty tough to make me lose my mind though.

I have always been surprised how strongly people react to getting flipped off in general. I don’t know that I’ve ever actually launched a bird from behind the wheel, but I used to throw them a bit on my bicycle in response to getting honked at.
