Pedal switcher

Do you guys use pedal switchers? Say you're playing a song and the chorus is coming up and you need to hit the distortion and the delay at the same time, so you run them both into a remote switcher so you can hit one switch that will activate both of them in the loop

I'm basically looking for ideas for this. I have a 1590bx2 I could make into a 3 or 4 switch switcher, or I could use a 1590b or a with two footswitches.

How do you fit them into your pedal boards? Looking for inspo

I use a Carl Martin The Strip because I wanted to do stuff like you are describing. And I had a super long chain of pedals that was getting noisy. The switcher minimizes what the signal is going through at one time.

My drives are not setup on a switcher but for all of my digital amp modeling, delays, reverbs and modulation stuff I have a morningstar MC6pro that does all my midi stuff.. one button I can change any of those.. amp, delay type and tempo.. modulations on and off etc etc... I'm leaning towards getting something that does both for my regular pedals and sends midi changes at the same time.

I use programmable loop switchers. I set up presets, and a lot of the time I will dedicate a bank to a song. But I also need to be able to drop into manual mode and directly control the loops.

Presets are recalled by PC messages. I also have devices that listen and recall a preset accordingly. I have a 4-channel switcher going into the front of my amp. That one, the loops are in series. And then I have a 4-channel switcher in the FX loop, and that has a matrix mixer that can do parallel, clean blends, trails, programmable and reorderable gain stages, etc. I can access manual mode on a control page I configured on the other switcher.

I’m currently in the process of making my own programmable loop switcher. It’s going to be in a 1590BX2 and have 4-loops. It will be controlled by an ATMega328. I have some basic features working, but it’s still in progress.

Here’s how I have them mounted on my board. The 2nd loop switcher is top-left. The Disaster Area DMC.micro is currently just routing some MIDI and displaying preset names.

Yes. Devoutly. Started with a Carl Martin Octaswitch II, I don't think the internals were built the best and I eventually bought a Boss ES-8. That was great too but I wanted to downsize my board so five years ago I shelled out for the RJM PBC6/X. The app UI can be a little arcane but otherwise I have zero complaints. Incredibly flexible, sounds great, and my board has remained both smaller and more flexible than it was during the 8 years in my previous band.
