Custom guitar build

First off, this is not me building it. But it’s been a year and it’s made it to the paint booth, and I should have it in about a month.

The guy used to go by MP guitars, but he rebranded as Messenger Guitars and gave me the option of this being the first guitar under that name.

He does social media content creation, and plans to release a video of the whole build process of this guitar on YouTube. I’ll share when that’s out.

7 string
chambered body
string through
25” scale
24 fret w/ zero fret
Fretboard radius: 20”
Width @ nut: 1-7/8"
Medium high fret wire
High gloss stained finish
Hardwax oil neck finish

Neck: Mahogany - no stain
Body: Plain grain pattern (maple) - Mahogany back - Purple stain on entire body
Fretboard: Ebony, minimal grain pattern

Did you ALSO use real berries for stain? I used blueberries and it was easy to just crush and swipe mushy berryjuice over plain wood on the body. Nice colour!

He got it from this place called Keda Dye, then sent me some swatches. Here’s the back of the one I picked.

My hair did fall out last year, which was upsetting, but it all grew back fortunately. I don’t really know anything about that guy playing my axe, besides him having some nice fingerstyle playing chops.

Still eagerly awaiting having it in my hands.

The two toggles are coil splits, volume, tone, neck/both/bridge
