Any new concerts you're looking forward to (formerly 2023 concerts)

I went to high school with Kevin Morby. We hung out in same circle. We played in a few bands together too. Super cool dude and super cool to see him being a successful musician. Hope you have fun at the show!
So sick!! I'm glad to hear he's a cool dude as well (I got that vibe from his music but you never know these days).

The show was awesome. I've really been enjoying his new album, I was slightly worried that since it's a little bit slower that might translate to a slower show, but they brought tons of energy to the stage and all seemed like they were having a great time. Carrie Brownstein even came out and did one of her songs with them at one point, which was a rad little surprise.

I was asked if I wanted to go see Primus a while back. I’ve seen them and FFFB a number of times over the years, so I didn’t take them up on it. But one of my friends has a spare ticket and I’m going now. It should be a fun time.

I was looking up tour dates for Imperial Triumphant. For one of the dates, I thought “Where the hell is Pelham, TN? Are they really playing in the middle of nowhere?”

When I clicked through I saw The Cavern, which I remember from @jwin615 posting about it back at #202 of this thread. Seriously considering doing a road trip to check it out. They are playing with Between the Buried and Me and Fallujah.

That would be a hell of a road trip from KC.
It's a cool venue and you can camp there. Though Tennessee in late June is... Hot and damp.
If you decide to camp, just purchase your spot when you get there or call the venue. Buddy booked a spot online for like 150 and it was $25 or so onsite.

Yeah I’d probably stay in Nashville the night before and camp the night of the show.

Thanks for that heads up. I probably would have been one of those suckers that overpaid to camp otherwise.

Bonnaroo is the weekend before about an hour away from the Caverns. If you're into that

I went to the 2nd one, back in 2003. Survived on a diet of dry ramen, blotter paper, and moonshine from the horse trailer bar a few tents down from us. On the last night, someone in our group convinced me to park closer to the exit before the last performance. I should have trusted my gut. Both cars were towed to a lot onsite. Between us we only had money to recover one of them. While I paid for mine, we used it as a distraction and snatched the keys for the other car and then bolted out of there with both cars.

Just got TMBG tickets for tomorrow. REALLY wanted to go to all three nights, but I couldn’t afford the three day pass back when they were announced. Brooklyn Steel is super inconvenient to get to anyway, plus now I have a grad party to get to on Saturday

If Sunn o))) ever plays there again I am going come hell or high water.

I’m also kicking myself for not going to Fire In The Mountains this year…but crossing the border is playing roulette at this point, ugh.

This rules! Thanks for sharing. Sadly no west coast leg this time around.

TMBG fact I learned recently: Weird Al’s “everything you know is wrong” is a TMBG style parody. It’s obvious to me now but I had no idea at the time despite being a fan of both when the song came out. There’s even a bari sax solo 😂

Yep! One of my three favorite style parodies, alongside Dare to be Stupid (Devo) and Virus Alert (Sparks)

Genius in France (Zappa) and Mission Statement (CSN/CSNY) are close behind in 4th and 5th place
