Using Burr Brown opamps in a dirt box is like using a CNC machine to make pallets.

I’ll admit I know next to nothing about photography and how product photos are done, so this is very insightful.

With digital photography you can retouch that stuff easily. I used to retouch the wine bottles I shot because no matter how vigilant you were in cleaning them there was always a lot to retouch!

I used to do some professional retouching for product shots as well, but never got a chance to do studio stuff. Weirdly it was a lot of brochure photos for power tool companies where the photographer forgot to tell the models to follow safely guidelines. I think I spent a week just clone stamping stray hoodie strings out of existence.

I know this feel too well. I started in high school doing simple b&w on a powermac 8500. Removing garbage cans and shadows 🫪

Several decades later got to do the photography myself so I could tell people what to do but invariably people are stupid sometimes and you just have to get it done and 'shop later.
