What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

I took a part time job as a guitar tech, helping out a real luthier in a music store. Woohoo! New lucrative hobby! Today I started my first "professional" full refret (I've only done this on a couple of my own guitars in the past). So far so good! It doesn't scare me.

Summer of Lovetone, 2026 continues.
DEFX String Ringer underway tonight; parts deficiency list updated and orders forthcoming.

Currently enjoying this little side quest.. Aion Obelisk, Spectron, Xenotron, and Lumitron, Dead End String Ringer and Turbotrem. Boards populated as far as possible with my stock, but now it’s time to acquire the rest.

I completed a Cheesemonger build this March, I quite enjoy it!

Looks like there's some multiturn trimmers on there. If you don't have one of these, they're very beneficial for multiturn trimmers. Anyone that every cursed them probably just wasn't using the correct tool.

after seeing @MichaelW ‘s build report for the Ultisol Distortion - i knew i’d have to get it on the breadboard asap, and i did this week and finally captured it tonight.

wasn’t a big fan of the weird diode clipping arrangement so i just replaced it with a couple red LEDs, sounded better to me.

also this was one of first times i’ve noticed a big difference with opamp selection.
the specified LM833 opamps really did sound noticeably better than whatever i started it off with (LF353 /TL072)

i’d have to say this one’s a winner. thick and searing. good EQ balance and the contour control is a real nice touch of control over the mids character.

I wish I would’ve seen this post sooner cause I just finished up my second Ultisol build last night. Gave my first one to a friend that liked it. I should’ve socketed the diodes but I do like it how it is.
