What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Add a heaping helping of chaos and do it with p-channel MOSFETs : P

My "T style" guitar that I built from parts finally made it back to my workbench. The volume knob was scratchy from day one. I think it was defective, it didn't seem overtightened at all. I also strongly disliked the audio taper. This is a before pic; televol.jpg

Finally replaced the pot with a linear taper. IMHO way better than audio. Works perfectly now and the sweep is much better. Didn't take an after pic but now it's fixed and improved.

Is there such a thing as convergent evolution in circuit design? I was bread boarding some ideas and started tweaking...looked down at the revised schematic and realized I had stumbled into an all-mosfet Tone Bender of sorts.

Does the world need a mosfet Tone Bender? 🤔

Does the world need another tonebender where you have to order 50-100 obsolete transistors from the far reaches of the earth just to get a few in spec?

I, for one, welcome our new mosfet overlords!

I'm using BS170s. I don't know for sure, but it would probably take 2N700s with zero changes. The bias network is just different enough that it should be less sensitive to variations in transistor beta.

Anytime there’s a new pedal with a slightly different tone.. it’s mosfets.
it is a little different. It does the bloated histrionic thing that FF and TB circuits do, but it has a certain grind to it that means it can chug as well.

Does the world need a MOSFET Tone Bender? Damn straight it does!
A MOS-Tender? No. No I don't believe it does.

There's no accounting for taste, I guess.

P.S "Moss Tender" sounds like a cousin to the Ents.

Damn dude. Your pedals are truly beautiful. How does this one differ from your Demoiselle Chorus?

Thank you! The Demoiselle uses the MN3207, the rate control goes way faster (47nF capacitor instead of 100nF) and it can do vibrato only (with the D/C/V control all the way to the right). I’ll record a side by side demo, the chorus is a bit richer with the MN3007 and the noise floor is lower on the Morpho.
