Question - Distortion 250 Clipping Diode Options

That was what I was thinking as well. Did a little research and it seemed like this arrangement would make sense. Thanks for the feedback/info. This community is awesome because of people like you.👍

Question - Distortion 250 Clipping Diode Options

So I ended up doing this on the switch. 1N4148s on the top, BAT41s on the bottom. Left yellow wire went to the right pad of D2, right blue wire to the left pad of D1. BUT....I also did this: I soldered two red LEDs in D1 and D2 with the wires from the switch attached to the underside of the...

Question - Distortion 250 Clipping Diode Options

-So I have a double side board from Tayda (SKU A-1191)...would that work? -If I go the two option route with the DPDT switch, what pads am I soldering the two center lugs to? Left lug to left pad of D1 and right lug to right pad of D2?

Question - Distortion 250 Clipping Diode Options

Hey all, I'm going to build up my Distortion 250 board this afternoon, and I would like to have three clipping options: -1N4148 -LEDs -a yet-to-be-determined third option (possibly Schottky BAT41s?) First time trying this, so my questions are as follow: -is this even possible? -is this...

    Triangulum Boost Optional Parts

Thanks! I couldn't see any point in the inclusion of them.

    Triangulum Boost Optional Parts

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Yes, those five components are what I was referring to as "optional", as they are on page two of the build doc. Thanks for the response. Question: What effect, if any, would the inclusion of those five parts, plus an SPST have on the circuit as a...

    Triangulum Boost Optional Parts

Hey everyone, I'm planning to tackle the Triangulum on Monday, and just wondering if the optional resistors, diodes, and transistor need to be jumpered, or if the pads can just be left empty without any issues to continuity/functionality. I know that they are leftovers from the original TC...

Optimal hfe for BC550C in Triangulum Boost?

Alright, thanks for the info. I'll probably just end up going with the ones that are all in the 600 range. Sounds like the pedal is going to do exactly what I need it to do; tighten up my 6505+. Now I just hope that this ends up being the build that breaks my current curse of botched builds. If...

Optimal hfe for BC550C in Triangulum Boost?

Against my better judgement, I'm going to try and build a Triangulum Boost. I can only find BC550C transistors on pedalhacker, and they offer two types, one with a typical hfe in the 600 range, and another kind that runs from 450-900. Any suggestions on what I should be grabbing to throw in this...

Doomstronaut V1 (PedalPCB 2 Sticks of Derm + Rullywow Serpent Boost)

I 100% agree. Awesome avatar photo, by the way. Dali was a bad motherfucker.

Doomstronaut V1 (PedalPCB 2 Sticks of Derm + Rullywow Serpent Boost)

Oh, this is a goddamned masterpiece compared to the previous two attempts at building each of these circuits. They are basically rosin-caked messes of melted plastic, solder, and unsalvageable components. I'm keeping them forever as reminders of how terrible I was at first.

Doomstronaut V1 (PedalPCB 2 Sticks of Derm + Rullywow Serpent Boost)

Thanks for the comment and the responses to my requests for help. I haven't had a chance to really let it rip, but I'm looking forward to it. I wrapped up everything about twenty minutes before I had to leave for work. Working down to the wire!

Doomstronaut V1 (PedalPCB 2 Sticks of Derm + Rullywow Serpent Boost)

Finally had not one, but two successful builds, and couldn't be happier. I was ready to pack it all in and sell my gear, but I'm reinvigorated. I learned a lot by screwing up both PCBs on my first attempts, but got help from builders on here and the r/diypedals subreddit. I'm still guilty of...

Wampler DOD 250 mods on PedalPCB Distortion 250

Gotcha. That makes perfect sense. Thanks again for the info.

Wampler DOD 250 mods on PedalPCB Distortion 250

Damn duder.....talk about going above and beyond!!! Thanks for this......can't wait to dive into it tonight. Quick question: what does the jumper between lugs 1 and 2 ACTUALLY do? I totally get that there can't be one just attached to nothing, but knowing as little as I do about circuits etc...
