DuoPhase build troubles: squealing, high end roll off, signal degradation, unwanted parallel audio and LFO

Above or below the pcb might not make that much difference if the wire run is close to the same part of the board. There have definitely been threads about this, not sure how much searching you’ve done through old troubleshooting threads on the Duophase but you might find some good tips there...

DuoPhase build troubles: squealing, high end roll off, signal degradation, unwanted parallel audio and LFO

These should be able to run quiet with tl072s. Since yours aren't in sockets and there are a ton of them, I wouldn't jump straight to trying different opamps. Try moving your wiring around. There are areas of the board that generate that LFO noise. If your in / out wires are running right up...

    Magnetron Delay: "Magnificent Frigatebird Delay"

Heck yeah! Sadly sold mine, but I’ll be building another soon. Yours looks great. Lovely bird, shame about the neck scrotum ha! Before I read the description I assumed it was somehow carrying a large fruit of some kind. The state flag of New Hampshire where I live features the magnificent...

smart phone holder that doesn't obstruct the lenses

If you unscrew the little clamp-holder from the end of a cheap selfie stick, the ones I’ve seen are all 1/4-20 thread which is the standard for camera tripod mounts.

I guess you’re right. If I had used the same paper template referenced to the top edge, the deeper box wouldn’t have helped. And really there’s plenty of room in a regular bb.

    Tape Delay is great too.

Absolutely. A tiny move toward the lid would have totally kept me out of trouble. I think it also might have been possible to move the audio jacks in towards the DC jack landing the audio jack tips between the pots. In any case, not your fault at all. I used your paper template for the face...

I trimmed one and hot glued it once but it wasn’t pretty. Robert sells one that looks pretty slick, but in this instance I think one of those would have made the clearance issue worse. https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/pot-insulator/

It’s all lies! My real handwriting is atrocious. Post in thread 'What’s on *YOUR* workbench?' https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/what%E2%80%99s-on-your-workbench.13146/post-350834

Thanks! I might even have got away with pushing on the jack while I tightened the nut to make some room, (it didn’t need much) but this way I don’t have to worry about it moving later.

I had to look that one up. ha! I did my last big enclosure batch all in matte clear. Looks better than gloss most of the time, and is easier to photograph 100% of the time.

Thanks! Pretty sure that's a Tayda matte violet, and then it's got a matte clear coat epoxy spray paint over that.

Another cool one from @Aleph Null ! Definitely the most fun of the Belton verbs I've built. The Sway and Saturation controls are particularly nice. Nice layout, great build docs, the only hiccup in the build was that the output jack location lined up the jack tip with one of the tabs on the...

Stuff you wanted to know but were afraid to ask

Dial it in for unity, loosen the set screw on the knob, turn to zero, tighten the set screw?
