The zeners are in series in the Chauffeur, not the usual parallel arrangement. The clipping threshold is the zener voltage plus the forward voltage in both directions. It'll work, but it'll clip at a different voltage.

They come out of the bag bent to hell and the position of the shaft relative to the PCB pads depends entirely on how well I manage to straighten the lugs out by hand. The lugs are flexible, you can shift them around by several millimeters in any direction without causing any visible bending...

Is this not something that could be corrected by straightening the pots into a line after soldering? Have you seen how Analogman mounts the King of Tone? They'll bend without breaking.

Yeah I was planning to pull out the toggle to try running them in parallel with a single blend control. Since you mentioned splitting the tone control, it'd actually be cool to split all three controls.... Then you could mix with the volume controls as well.

I built a Triangle / Mascis (and I believe that's a Rams Head) variant to test the PCB, just because the values looked different enough to not be subtle. It was not subtle. :ROFLMAO: The Mascis sounds neutered compared to the low end of the triangle.

I've seen that happen to folks but I can't explain why unless they're mixing 6mm and 6.35mm shafts.
