A rough guide to the gain of the valvesView attachment 75896
I’m kind of curious on plate voltage and the downsides or positive use of a higher or lower plate voltage. 12AT7 for instance with its high plate voltage. So high it may not be worth it or a maybe a bland sound. Then again, it may mean nothing.

Thanks for reminding me of the 12av7 I’ve for a few of those.

Right now for me i like the clean channel of the Ambassador into the Particle accelerator, going to the return of my effect loop.

Just an update on the PA tube swaps. First I put in a 12at7. The sound was clear and boosted. Tone controls had more range-but, I believe I might’ve put a bad 12at7 in there. Something was off about it. I could hiss with the gain turned all the way down but as raise it the hiss would go away only to return at the end of the sweep. It was a great clean boost though.

Next I put in a JJ 5751 measured to be high gain. It’s 90/90 lol. Basically a slightly low 12ax7. Again, the sound is full and quieter of course but NO breakup. Little more range out of the tone controls. It sounds very nice although I may try a 12av7 or lower gain 5751 and 12ax7.

Beforehand I had a nos Raytheon long black plate in it. It would break up at about 1 o’clock on the gain dial. I know Raytheon’s, atleast the older ones, could have a good bit of gain similar to Sylvanias but I’m shocked by the difference. Another thing worth mentioning is the breakup was very “gritty” as known to be.

I wonder if there’s some form of snap in tube socket that could be used in these builds? Or maybe some kind of retainer that would allow you to swivel the retainer/socket out so the tip of tube is facing outward to pull out. Either way I enjoyed tube rolling in this pedal so far. Probably not the smartest thing to do but the results were surprising.

Have an Elementary coming up next but just realized it say “bass” Elementary. @vigilante398 are there 2 different elementarys? Can it be used with guitar stock with satisfactory results or did I screw up. It was made by you.

I looked into that when I was first designing the 12AX7 daughter boards and was unable to find any solution that was both easy to remove and secure enough that the tube socket wouldn't just fall off when bumped too hard.

There's no such thing as a bass Elementary, the word Bass there is just the label for the bass knob on the EQ. I get that question every now and then.

I have to praise the Particle Accelerator. I'm not feeling the need to invest in a full tube amp in the context of my rig. Although it can be a bit heavy on bass (at least with humbuckers i have to dial out a bit of bass) it just sounds wonderful, give all the warmth and harmonics that my hybrid setup needed. I'm still wishing for a clean/dirty tube pre to make it perfect, but even so i'm ver pleased with my C2C fella in the pedalboard :)
It makes me happy to play guitar. That. Thank you @vigilante398 for all the joy!!
PD: I was watching the debate on tube types for testing, i'm using a 12v supply with 12ax7 EHX and sounds very nice. Haven't tried other tubes by now, but eventually i will replace it with a semi new JJ i have at hand.

Playing Bass, I’m really enjoying the combination of a Particle Accelerator into the Bass Dude.
The Bass Dude is set just before break-up and the PA is set to nudge the BD over.
