SOLVED Super Fuzz problems

Hey all. Just built a super fuzz and on test, silence. Hit up the audio probe and there is nothing beyond the base of Q1. Thinking that Q1 may be buggered I pulled it and tacked on a socket (very crudely) and still the same, nothing on the collector. Anyone any thoughts as what the hell could be going on here, it makes no sense to me. Schematic attached. Thanks in advance

You know better than to post a troubleshooting thread without pictures. :ROFLMAO:
Yes I do, in my own defence I really didnt think it would matter given that it’s only 5 bloody components in. The black wires are just tacked on for testing. You can see Q1 is empty. I’ve pulled the transistor and tacked on a socket on the underside.

These are the voltages of an original (based on someone on freestompboxes measuring it)

"C B E
Q1 6.01 .66 .117
Q2 8.88 6.01 5.41
Q3 6.23 3.27 2.72
Q4 3.1 1.7 1.11
Q5 3.1 1.67 1.11
Q6 5.75* .98 .361

*can be lower"

@Nostradoomus @PedalBuilder @Robert hey guys, thanks for all your efforts so far. It is indeed a fuzzdog board. I buy a lot from there being in the uk. The board is indeed designed for 5088s. I am at an absolute loss as to where the signal is going. I am half inclined to just grab another board and start again ?

P.s. I do get quite a few boards from you dudes, just waiting on a delivery as it happens 😂

Have you tried turning the 2N5088 around yet, the one Robert said has swapped E/C voltage-values?
Oh, he wasn't specifying a single transistor...

Also what version of the build doc are you using, and does it match the board?

I'd do a continuity test with a DMM following the schematic to make sure everything is connected as per the schematic (hopefully there isn't a typo/error on the schematic). I'd probably start with the socket itself, make sure there's continuity to its surrounding components. As you may be able to tell, I'm not very good at debugging...

So it turns out that Q2 had crapped out !!!

Checked the vaults on it ! There where not any 😂😂😂 Thanks for your help bud.

How do I do the solved thing ?

I never solve anything so I don't know! 😹

There should be a button near your OP somewhere... maybe it's marked "STATUS" if not outright "SOLVED"...

[EDIT] OKAY... I joined this forum to get help fixing an Electric Mistress ...

Go to your OP, click on EDIT and up in the left corner of the post by the Thread Title is a drop down menu labelled (Prefix)... therein you'll find the SOLVED!

Now I've got something that's SOLVED!, too!
