There’s a few places that sell them. Is it necessary to use them in order to capture the “mojo”?original were 1S188-FM, i guess they're discontinued.

have a look at this plot to compare diodes. You will see quite a few close match for anything you look for, 1S188 and 1K188 measure the exact same, just a different name, same diode
tray BAT41/46 or a 5817/1n4001, I doubt there's any difference
Definitely easier to source...Pretty sure I've used 1N5817, not to mention they're probably far more consistent than germanium.
Seems to be a very crude way to bias the opamps. Normally there is a 470k or higher resistor there.View attachment 85593
What are these ge diodes doing in this circuit ? Some sort of filtering ?
