Interestingly people assume it's different because one is called silicon and one is called op-amp in the marketing copy. But I assume it's just a mistake in the copy.

Right, I forgot the schematic. I'm still horrible at reading schematics, but it looks like it would be more of a silicon fuzz with op-amps used for buffers (and octave)?

Opamps are silicon too, but it's a little confusing calling it an opamp fuzz since all of the fuzz is coming from the two transistors and those four clipping diodes.

To be fair, Fender says "two silicon diodes", and it does have those.... in fact it has a total of seven silicon diodes (five in the Hello Kitty), but I reckon only two of em are worth mentioning.
