After a long-awaited Tayda order came right before the weekend, I was back to building. These boards were all mostly populated a while back. Here’s some dirt that has a positive reputation in the forum.

Red Herring (Menatone Red Snapper)
I like this one a lot. The EQ interplay between the cut and the bite felt novel and was fun to explore.

I had the whole thing mounted in the enclosure before I realized I didn’t populate the 1N5817. Fortunately I was able to pre-trim and solder from the front of the board.

Chop Shop (Fairfield Circuitry Barbershop)
There’s a lot written about this pedal. I think it definitely sounds cool, but if it was on my board I’d set it almost completely clean.

The only thing notable about this build is I bought the wrong 22uf caps, so the pedal has a giant pair of blue balls.

Range Finder (Dallas Rangemaster)
I don’t think I’ve given this a proper test yet. I’ve only used it on my little bench amp. But I think I will like it. I use a Mercurial Boost with the lows cut to push bigger amps. It seems like this will do that well, but with a bit more character. The transistor came from the Mystery PIF.

Corroder (HOA Rust Driver)
This was instantly fun. There’s not much to control here. The sound is more sophisticated than the bom leads you to believe. Easy to get some chugs, easy to back off.
