PPCB Tone Generator’s

I put this together and it doesn’t work. First time SMD for me, it could be a lot of things. LED doesn’t light up. No sound.

I wondered if the jack needs to be stereo? Is the ring used? I only stock the mono version and I clipped the ring lead off. Shouldn’t matter since there’s an on/off switch.

Ideas?

Looking at the store photo, it looks like ring sleeve grounding is in play. Makes sense as it's designed for battery
Try jumpering the two together or bodge in a wire

Ah you’re right. Jumpered but that didn’t help.
I checked the diode, it’s right, have 9v on the other side. I’ll have to probe around…

Yep, you need the stereo jack but shorting Sleeve to Ring should have worked.

Check for continuity between the - battery pad and the negative terminal of the 10uF electrolytic at the top of the board.
