Getting my learning on

The TubeSchemer
Headed out on vacation in a couple of weeks and pulling together some reading material. I’ve already got the Wampler books, Guitar Electronics for Musicians, Electronic Projects for Musicians, Stompbox Cookbook and Small Signal Audio Design.

Anything essential I’m missing?

Prefer digital copies if possible.

Install KiCad and download a bunch of build docs. Transcribe some schematics and practice doing your own layout!
(Start with something easy like a Zendrive clone or a Acapulco Gold clone.
(Put that learning to practical use! It's harder for me, at least, to just book read without also Doing Something)

Great idea although looking into it, doest seem there is an iPad version and Mrs G threatened to "punch me in the throat" if I brought a laptop because I would end up working at some point.

Find a version of Spice you can run on whatever screen appliance you’re bringing, or at least some tutorials on circuit simulation.
Another great idea! Also, probably better than bringing a full breadboard on a 10 hour international flight. Lots of small parts everywhere and certain the police arrest me because there is no chance they would believe I was just "building guitar pedals".

Diving into this, there is an app called BreadPad. The quick time I have used it, seemed easy and straight forward to use but looks like it is not being supported. It is missing things like transistors. I am TERRIBLE at breadboarding so it would have been great to have something that to practice.

TinkerCad has something as well but it is web based and a little hard to move wires around using my finger on the touch screen. I have an apple pen I could use, but I have to find it.

I have searched but not finding anything else, any other breadboard specific apps?

Honestly my main suggestion for ipad would be to make sure you have some kind of drawing app. The main thing I use my tablet for is convenient referencing of existing schematics and doodling new ideas for schematics. Then when I get to a computer (don't get throat punched by the missus) I organize things into an actual CAD program and keep going from there.

An ideal solution is a pdf editor that would let you doodle on top of existing schematics, that's what I like to do.
