Line Isolator

Made a Line Isolator (bottom left) for this small dual ToneX board. Also my first custom PCB. Balanced inputs and thru, XLR outputs, ground lift and phase flip. Passive

Also made a small interface box with a soft ground lift (upper right)

I'm really diggin' the ToneX's - mostly because they react really great to pedals. Completely on their own I'm not that thrilled, but with a bunch of pedals in front, like I would do anyway with a real amp, they're pretty good - better than any other modellers I tried. (haven't tried a Quad Cortex)

The reason for two is I really like the sound and feel of a dual amp setup. For example a Fender style amp and an AC30 mixed just works really great IMO. A poor mans version (and easier to carry) is to mix two different speakers like an blue alnico and a greenback in the same 2x12. An ever poorer mans version is this dual ToneX board ;-)

I just got the tonex plugin suite installed last night. I run dual tones sometimes through a carvin legacy 412 I rewired for stereo, swamp thang and cannabis rex on one side, govnor and manowar on the other side. I really built the cab for a studio metal catch all cabinet but like the speaker pairings a lot.
Excited to see it I can get close to the versitility with tonex. Seeing more people run dual setups with these gives me hope in the technology.

IMO the one thing modellers really can't replace is speakers moving serious air and the interaction between the speaker and the pickup. For me it's more about that than it is a matter of tubes or not.

That being said, I can easily see myself using this setup for many kinds of gigs - just because of so many practical issues

I play live just about every week with Tonex as my amp.... For years I was using the HX Stomp.. When Tonex came out I realized it is way better.. I've been playing live ampless for 6 years now... i had two of the tonex ones for a bit running a dual amp setup but realized I like the bigger unit better for better versatility and being able to bank up and down to different amp whenever I want
