    1590B Top-Mount Jacks Measurements

Tell me more about these plates! Do you make them?

Passive AB with 2 LEDs (or a bicolor) - how do YOU wire them?

It looks like the premium DPDT stomp switches from Love My Switches save about 2mm of space, which is relatively huge in a 1590LB. Gives more room for the LED bezels and TS jacks. The builder on FB was having trouble getting everything to fit cleanly.

Passive AB with 2 LEDs (or a bicolor) - how do YOU wire them?

Someone on a FB pedal group posted a question regarding making a small, passive AB switch. They used a 3PDT, and it seems like that is unnecessary when you could just do what I diagrammed in the attached photo. How do YOU like to wire these things?

    What are these transistors for?

https://synthcube.com/cart/parts/internal-components/transistors/2n2712-noisemakers I have no idea how these are used, and I am curious.

How do you install your footswitches ? What to do with the various rings ?

White LED for drive, pink for mod, blue for reverb and delay <3

Further down the Ge rabbit hole, possible stupid question

I have a really good PNP FF I'm building, and next to it on the breadboard is a PNP Rangemaster. All GT402I transistors. I have selectable clipping diodes on the RM, also Soviet germanium of course for mojo, and with the FF cranked and the diodes on I get some octave up.

Further down the Ge rabbit hole, possible stupid question

I have some NOS Motorola 2N5087s that I bought for my Squidward PCB... maybe I should just use those, and save the AC128s for Rangemasters or something. Maybe I'll make a Darlington pair Rangemaster and kick my preamp in the dick with signal

Further down the Ge rabbit hole, possible stupid question

Dude this is EXACTLY what I needed! I have 3 AC128s that just aren't doing it for me in a Fuzz Face - too clean. I'll drop them in this! The AC128s are around 60hfe. What do you recommend for the NPN, something higher gain? 2N5089?

I HATE THESE. Chromed metal bezels all day errday

How do you install your footswitches ? What to do with the various rings ?

Inside the pedal: bottom nut, washer, lock washer Outside the pedal: metal dress washer, top nut Looks nice, holds fast, and drops the level of the top of the footswitch to the level of the knobs for aesthetic purposes.

    SOLVED XC Phase not phasing

I have some JRC4558s that are completely unlabeled. Just blank. 9 out of 10 work fine!

    Favorite hard clipping overdrive?

For transistor-based circuits, definitely Electra. Small, easy, sounds great, what's not to like? If you haven't, try making a PNP germanium one! The best recipe I've come up with is with something high gain and low noise - right now I'm working on one with a ~100hfe GT402I, a 1N60 and 1N34 in...

    Creepy Fingers EQ Exciter

A friend of mine mentioned he wanted a fuzz pedal, and I said, "ok!" He's a heavy metal guy who uses mostly active pickups and amp sims, so I wanted something that would sound good direct and not care too much about a hot input signal. The EQ Exciter seemed like a good bet. I didn't like the...

Halp! I Need Some Basic Parts Advice From All You Pros...

StompBoxParts has 1kg soft click footswitches that are the shit. Only ones I use. What I mean by the brand thing is that cheap parts are fine, if you're buying in bulk/don't need tight tolerances/they aren't parts that benefit from being "nice". If you cheap out on buying a single PT2399 for a...

    SOLVED XC Phase not phasing

I do like multiturn trimpots. Much easier to dial stuff in. Have you tried removing and reseating your ICs? You might even try sanding the legs a little.

    SOLVED XC Phase not phasing

Trimpot shouldn't matter. This is from another thread on the subject, though, courtesy of @mkstewartesq :

Halp! I Need Some Basic Parts Advice From All You Pros...

Brand doesn't matter until it does, basically. I have a bunch of cheap Chinese parts that have great tolerances and work fine. Look for Chanzon brand stuff on Amazon, except for ICs, which are hit and miss. Generally. There are times a film cap won't fit, and you need to find something like an...

    Any bassist recommendations?

Circulator is a great phaser that works well on bass! There's also the War Scythe, which is a Hoof Reaper. As you might be able to tell, I like EQD

    Fuzz control capacitor values

Lead size as in diameter, no. Lead size as in length, yes. The 100uf has trimmed leads because I was using it for something else. The 20uf only has the longer leg clipped to make it the same length as the shorter leg.

Yep, the Electrosmash one. Please ignore the polarity; I wired it NPN because it's a Si Face
