A friend of mine mentioned he wanted a fuzz pedal, and I said, "ok!" He's a heavy metal guy who uses mostly active pickups and amp sims, so I wanted something that would sound good direct and not care too much about a hot input signal. The EQ Exciter seemed like a good bet. I didn't like the suggested low gain transistors, so I played with things and settled on a trio of NOS TI BC108Cs. The sticker is from a local artist. This is my nicest looking build yet, and I wanted to share!
If anyone else is considering it, it's a really good fuzz. I used a veroboard layout from tagboardfx. I'm probably going to explore the rest of the Creepy Fingers lineup now.
