i flatten the enclosure on a tabletop belt sander, then smooth them with a handheld Bosch orbital sander with 220, then 320 grit. bock them with 400 wet sand paper, and then buff them with a buffing wheel to remove and scratches. then i mask them with a reverse mask created in photoshop onto...
years ago i etched my own PCB for a an Elk Fuzz Sustainar and it looks like this:
gut shot:
i also recently built an Earthquaker Hizumitas fuzz which is the same circiut and also added the mids switch to it, calling it the "Hizumitas +":
Way back in 2016, since i always loved the sound of an Acoustic 370 head, i decided to build an exact clone of the preamp of it in pedal form. It took me along time to design and etch the multiple PCBs for it and build one for myself. Fortunately, I had all of the original transistors for it...
i just finished an Aion Pereladra Deluxe (BB Deluxe) build and modded it for bass and it sounds great. much better than the standard Aion Perelandra with the their suggest bass mods.
here's a pic of my build:
i built the Bass BB version on AION's Perelandra (twice!) and compared them to my original Xotic Bass BB and it doesn't really sound as good or really anything like it. it doesn't have anywhere near as much gain (distortion) and it's a lot brighter sounding. on the original with the treble and...
i bought the more expensive version like this twice (and it worked well) : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002MJMXD4?ref_=ppx_hzod_title_dt_b_fed_asin_title_0_0&th=1
but i recently bought this less expensive one and i like it even more ( it works even better)...
your trace example looks (and is) correct but when i ohmed my pcb out one of the led legs was backwards.
it had VERY low output and no clipping (neither led lit up). when i reversed one of them, it came to life and sounded great.
i just built the Flank distortion and it didn't work properly. When I noticed that the clipping LEDs weren't lighting up, I checked the pcb and found an error on it.
the Anode/Cathode on one of them has to be reversed in order for it to work, so
all you have to is reverse the polarity of one of...
about 1/2 of the 1,000 pedals that i have i built, and the others are the factory originals..
yes, that's the first thing that did, changing the A500K drive pot to a A1M, but, surprisingly it didn't change it much.
