Why have you insulated the pedal internally? Ground is made through the jacks to the enclosure. If you haven’t got a connection to the enclosure that is a problem. Also are you measuring when they are soldered in place? If so values often test differently with a meter.

This sounds like normal behaviour if you have built it with stock values and haven’t tweaked R4. Like @swelchy says - there’s loads on the forum to increase the volume with some simple resistor tweaks.

Has anyone experimented with adding an effect loop to a delays repeats only? I plan on giving this a try and other than having a buffer on the return signal, I can’t think of any issues as most effects would be instrument and not line level. The DOD rubberneck has an effects loop in it but I...

I haven’t got round to it yet @LukeFRC - for me the only possible power supply issue was when the compressor circuit was engaged. I never use that anyway so I don’t come across any issues when I use it with my amp (and it sounds great as it is). I know that @Gordo recommended a Yamaha keyboard...

@Guardians of the analog - I’m a big fan of plate reverb too. Let us know how it works with the vibro champ. I think reverb is where (at the moment) DIY can’t perform as well the more complex non-DIY products.

Yep! The hydra is the best FV-1 DIY circuit IMO. Does the helix have an echo Rex style delay @SillyOctpuss ?

Yeah it’s seems like you could cover so much ground with those two. I love my hydra too much to be interested in any other delays at the moment.

It turns out that reverse psychology obviously works for me as I went for the chase bliss dork world (🤣🤣🤣 @Harry Klippton ) I just loved the sounds from both sides of it from what I listened to and all the switching options are super-interesting. I’ll probably get the faves MIDI switch for it...

If you use a a 1u or 2u2 output cap and a 100k pot it should make the filter redundant for guitar frequencies. At 25k it filters at 2Hz. 50k is 1.4Hz and 75k is 1Hz with a 2u2. So with this value you don’t have a useful filter as everything above these values is allowed to pass on the output...

When wiring up a TPA3118 module, has anyone experimented with pot value to make the volume more controllable? The image above uses a B50k wired before the module. I’d assume a A50k would be better. I have a tube preamp build in the works that I want to use this with as a power amp for a 1x12.

What size traces do you use with tube circuits @vigilante398 Also what do you do interns of space between ground and traces?

You have the SMD and through hole component in place for the J201. You don’t need both of those. Have you tried removing the through hole JFET to see if that changes anything?

Great work @boysenpai and I love your persistence. The lowtide is a pretty ballsy first pedal to build. I would recommend that you have a go with some simple low part count ODs or fuzzes next. This thread is also very useful...

I took a chance on this through eBay. The seller had said that it had been sat in a box for 20 years and didn’t work. They go on reverb (for examples in better condition than this one) for £350-£580 so I took a punt and won it for £161 thinking there’s a good chance to get my money back or more...
