    Delay pedal for vocal use

If I wanted to use a pedal designed for guitar (mainly, say, a delay pedal) for vocals, is there anything else than just switching out the input and output jacks for XLR? And how would that work since it's unbalanced and mono, presumably? Or is a microphone's signal too low to work with just any...

A couple of questions regarding the Clandestine Preamp

I think you could power it up and have a go at biasing, but biasing by ear is also a valid way to do it usually, so I'd suggest you wait until it's all done and bias as the last step. That way you can also check how it sounds.

A couple of questions regarding the Clandestine Preamp

I generally put the switches and pots carefully into the holes on the PCB and then guide it into the enclosure, so the pots and switches line up. Solder the pots and switches there. For that kind of a LED which is apparently built in to the bezel, I would probably put that in it's place and try...

Where and why do people buy Chibsons?

Let's be accurate now. We know there's microplastics everywhere - what we don't know is what risk they pose to human health. They obviously don't kill you straight away since they're so ubiquitous, and I'd say most people wouldn't be very comfortable betting that they are completely harmless...

Schematic for Custom Audio Electronics (CAE) V-Comp Tube Compressor

Did you try emailing CAE? I'm not sure if they will just give you the schematics, but it's worth asking at least. The chances that someone has the schematics just lying around is pretty low. If you want general troubleshooting help, I suggest you post in the Troubleshooting sub-forum instead...

Triad Compressor PCB - Available Now!

For whatever reason I actually really like G.O.A.T., but I'm with you where I can't stand any of their other songs (and FWIW I'm also technically a millennial). A similar thing happens to me enough with ~most other bands too, so nowadays I just pick the songs I like, stick them on a playlist...

He's 30, so you would have to be a very early bloomer.

Triad Compressor PCB - Available Now!

I had to look up what the hell you were talking about, and I have to say, from a foreign perspective I feel like some americans get bent out of shape over the stupidest things...

Tantalums in the Hydra 1uF slots

Thanks a ton! That saved me a bunch of work having to figure out which way around they should be! As it happens I'm pretty sure only one of them is the right way around so I'll probably have to desolder the rest. But it could have saved me a lot of desoldering. Oh well!

Tantalums in the Hydra 1uF slots

So I was a dumdum and did a nono and put in polarized tantalums in the 1uF slots on the Hydra. If I got it right, it's ok as long as the tantalum is blocking 9V from reaching the FV-1 and the output cap stops DC from leaking out of the pedal, is that correct? If I figure which way they are in...

    Moonn Electronics- Space is Fun

Not necessarily - I'm just saying that changing from a TL084 to TL074 had a small improvement in mine, but I originally used a TL084 because I couldn't get a TL074 or a TLC274 (I do have a TLC274 now I think, I might test it at some point). TL084 is sort of like a TL074, but worse, as far as I...

    Moonn Electronics- Space is Fun

FYI yes, the dry side also goes through the opamp so it colors the dry signal too. That's inherent to the circuit. I changed the opamp and it did improve the sound, it's maybe a tiny bit less bassy, but mostly the gain sounds nicer. I forget which way I changed it, it's probably somewhere in my...

Are you sure you printed it at 100%? It almost looks like the drill template is zoomed out a little bit.

SOT-23 test sockets and measuring JFETs

Man, if it works well you could even put that JFET matcher circuit right onto the same PCB, potentially 🤔

    EAE Beholder

Ahh, but technically they didn't say that, they said other people would hate your music you make with this pedal! Speaking of which, any demo possibilities? A very nice and clean looking build inside and outside!

Ooooh a Dagger? I assume it is on the workbench for a reason 👀

British Royalty Overdrive (Greer Royal Velvet)

I saw someone mention sot-23 ZIF sockets, and I was looking for them just now for this reason - so you could audition SMD JFET's before soldering. So something like this is the best I found https://www.ebay.com/itm/403483171477 (or aliexpress...

    Jptr fx Roygbiv

Dimension P for the chorus part probably? Some sort of a very simple drive (or just clipping?) circuit to go with it, don't know about the other two (filter or noise).

    SOLVED Viceroy very low gain

Well, did a full resoldering with flux in every component joint and also resoldered all the pots. I'm not sure if it did anything, or if spending some time away from playing it made it sound slightly better for me, but I think I'm done tinkering with the pedal now. I suspect I might still have...

    New apostle GCI capacitor identification

FYI, not sure if this is too late, but according to Facebook C2 should be 68nF and the 10uF is a mistake.
