What are the pedals every guitarist must have?

    This answer is too real.

What are the pedals every guitarist must have?

I say a tubescreamer. The most hated pedal that every other pedal is based on. How can you know you don't like tubescreamers unless you have one? It's a rite of passage.

    Question About Selling

Agree with all the stuff you said but this point I'm not sure of. I think most people don't know or care what an Electra distortion is, nor do they shop specifically for one. Lovepedal has a lot of success at selling these circuits at high prices, and from what I gather on mainstream guitar...

Are these stomp switches the same?

Those cost more than the current Lumbergs.

Are these stomp switches the same?

I have been using the non-lumberg ones from sbp, lms and tayda. I have heard mixed reviews of reliability for these, but since I build mostly for myself, I can put up with a faulty jack and replace if it fails (so far none have). If I were selling pedals I'd splurge for the real ones. Sbp and...

Next build: Plexi Drive, Benson Preamp, BSIAB2, other?

I would also bump Neurocyton Preamp as an option for you. It's a jfet drive with a fendery flavor.

    Old Solder

So it's safer too. Even more reason to use it.

    PedalPCB Pipestetcher

It just cleans out the paint or straightens out damaged threads. The one I linked is the one I use (#6-32).

Next build: Plexi Drive, Benson Preamp, BSIAB2, other?

You gotta build 'em all. Since you're looking for a pushed Princeton, I'd start with the Benson from those 3. The other two are more marshally.

What's your favorite Fuzz Face build?

The Lunar Module has been my favorite (I built the Fuzz Aldrin from pedalpcb). Check the forum search, you'll find some good threads on soldering station recommendations. Also, check your assumptions that a DIY hobby actually saves you money--you'll learn that quickly too.

Recommend transistors for Titania2 and Simulcast?

I used a 2N404A with gain of 200 in my Duocast. I read somewhere it wasn't too sensitive to amount of gain so I thought I'd use the high gain transistor there. It works fine.

Curious about extra electrolytics in Son of Ben Preamp — I Reverse engineered original.

This site is not what it seems. We've been unraveling conspiracies piece by piece. Wait until you hear about how he hides his schematics or weakens the pads on pcbs. The ruse is up @Robert (or is it buggs? hmmm so many identities)

    Chop shop quick question

Unless somebody traces the new circuit we'd just be speculating what the trims do. Here's my speculation: I see one called sag--I suspect that one must adjust the range of sag pot. If there's one that controls the gain (not labeled as such), I suspect it sets the R5.

    Chop shop quick question

a 2n2222a would yes--I think the pinout is reverse of a pn2222 so you might have to insert it opposite--always double check that stuff when subbing parts

    Chop shop quick question

Turn the sag all the way down, then use the trims to set the voltages to around 6V. That should get you a decent sound. From there you can tune by ear. Or skip the voltage measurement and go by ear all the way.
