    Biasing a Benson Preamp

Hey everyone, I'm about to attempt to build a Benson Preamp with veroboard using SMD J201s. Their docs call for the builder to bias it as per PedalPCB instructions. However I notice that the veroboard was designed and uploaded months before PedalPCB released a new revision. I guess my...

So… true bypass is a tone suck on all my pedals? (Audio example included)

The problem I have is that I have a wireless system as first in my chain, it has a buffer in it so I can't get passed that. I do have a green russian big muff that sounds great in my chain, but I just built a Foxx Tone Machine which has 1N34A in them so I don't know how that's going to go, the...

    I built a veroboard search engine 😅

Just wanted to say I've added some DOM level lazy loading and the site should run much faster for you.

    I built a veroboard search engine 😅

That’s fair, I’ll address what you’ve encountered below but feedback on these kinds of things is the way they improve so firstly: thank you! I hope you take the time to read my response. Currently the site loads all entries at once on first paint. It doesn’t leverage a database (working on it...

    I built a veroboard search engine 😅

So I've done a few PedalPCBs, however they take 40+ days to get to my country, so I delved a bit into veroboard. One thing I didn't expect was that the two main sites to browse layouts were both blogspot sites spanning decades (and thank the lord for them). However, I battled to actually browse...

Can someone please help with this old Green Russian veroboard? Need someone who has circuit understanding 😅

Thanks so much @HamishR , honestly it all came down to the fact that I didn’t have veroboard that size, I searched for a GM but smaller and that’s what I found haha. This is my first go at vero other than small boosts so this is really enlightening, thanks mate

Can someone please help with this old Green Russian veroboard? Need someone who has circuit understanding 😅

Also @szukalski here’s a bit more info on the mid boost switch, I think this should add into the other cap in parallel “The centre off position leaves just the 4n on its own which is as per the original circuit. One position adds the 4n7 in parallel to give you 8n7 which is the flatter...

Thanks, does Volume 3 to ground seem right to you? I have a feeling it's a 'typo' but I'm not sure enough

I'm unsure if my questions about a green russian veroboard should go in Troubleshooting, so I'm linking it here. Anyone here able to help me out?

I have two questions I'm looking for help with here: https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/can-someone-please-help-with-this-old-green-russian-veroboard-need-someone-who-has-circuit-understanding-%F0%9F%98%85.17639/

Can someone please help with this old Green Russian veroboard? Need someone who has circuit understanding 😅

Sheesh, okay so here goes. I wanted to build a green russian but opted for an alternative layout because I don't have the right cut of veroboard for the bigger one. Here's the schematic, following this diagram is two questions I need help with So i have two questions 1. Can someone please...

So… true bypass is a tone suck on all my pedals? (Audio example included)

Yeah, no change in sound if they're unplugged or not

So… true bypass is a tone suck on all my pedals? (Audio example included)

To be sure this wasn't the case, its the same length of cable for all three First test is a 2 meter cable into an empty enclosure (with just two jacks, and a footswitch) and then 2m to the amp sim, The two pedals that drop the high frequencies are both in bypass mode with the same 2m in and 2m out.

So… true bypass is a tone suck on all my pedals? (Audio example included)

I don't think it could be this because of multiple pedals all doing the same thing, grounds and jacks are fine. I tried with a store bought Friedman BE-OD and it was the same thing. Here's the tyrian and muffin fuzz, both been double checked and no issues with grounding

So… true bypass is a tone suck on all my pedals? (Audio example included)

I was thinking of this, but consider that in my test video, the empty box has the same wire / 3PDT setup

So… true bypass is a tone suck on all my pedals? (Audio example included)

Yeah I've been scratching my head, they're brand new footswitches, brand new pedalpcb switch boards, (the 9 hole circuitboards you solder to the switch), and brand new jacks. Same components used in the empty box that you're hearing in the first and last chord that sounds fine.

I j I just tried my Friedman BE-OD (not a clone) and it does the same thing. This is into Logic Pro with an amp sim, I wonder if by any chance it could be that. What’s a plug jack?
